I recently took part in a week long masterclass in portrait drawing using Nitrum Charcoal. Preparation of the paper was key. The video below shows you exactly how to tone the paper and the materials you'll need before you begin your drawing. By following these techniques you will avoid having streaky paper. Prepare in advance so the paper has time to dry.
